New features
We’ve had your feature requests this year under Elf Surveillance, so here’s what we’ve cooked up…
Download timesheet in PDF
🤶 All I want for Christmas is... the ability to download timesheets directly from the platform. This was one of the most requested features recently and we are very happy to announce that - it's here! We understand that it's a very useful feature to have in case you need to send a timesheet to a colleague, client or even the worker themselves.
This is how it works: simply go to the timesheet in question and click 'Download timesheet' from the 3-line menu in the top right corner:
The PDF will contain worker information, their hours and placement details as well as an activity log for auditing purposes.
API documentation
✨ Silent night, holy night, all is calm and all is bright… said anyone who has ever worked in recruitment. We, at ENGAGE, understand that you might be using a few platforms simultaneously and even for smaller-sized agencies it might become tricky to keep up with all of the updates or refinements. We might have a solution for that in a form of API integration.
API is the acronym for Application Programming Interface, which is a software intermediary that allows 2 applications to talk to each other. We have developed our own API and recently updated all the documentation for it so you won't run into the problems when using it.
If you would like to find out about automating your business processes and enhancing data sharing between ENGAGE and your system (this could be CRM or most other software) - please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
Improvements
Christmas is coming early for our clients, with new improvements made to the platform.
PO settings in Client Configuration
If you make PO required for the timesheets - the system will automatically do the same for expenses however it was not made clear in the Client Configuration setting. Rectified!
Changes in expense file sizes
Do you know the kids song that goes like:
🎵 When Santa got stuck in the chimney he began to shout
"You girls and boys won't get any toys
If you don't pull me out 🎵 ..."?
This is exactly what was happening with expense attachments occasionally. When we send out invoices, expenses are attached automatically and are sometimes just too big for the mail services to handle.
We have now remodelled this part of the functionality and can reassure you that no invoices will get stuck in the chimney because of the expense ever again! Just another improvement for a better user experience.
Fixes
Away in a Manger our development team have been working hard to bring you the latest fixes of the ENGAGE platform. Here is what they’ve been working on:
Worker and Business searches
Dashing through the snow... or more accurately through the list of businesses and workers. Not long ago, if you were looking for either of those in your Network section, occasionally, you might not find the right worker or be presented with zero results when looking for a business. Not a roadblock any longer!
Password reset emails
We'd like to think that every letter you've ever written to Santa has reached him. We held the same hope for your password reset emails but sadly, sometimes they couldn't reach our servers and got lost. But we will be leaving this inconvenience behind in 2021 because it's been fixed!

2021 in review
This year has been a year of a big change, hard work and growth for ENGAGE - both for the platform and the team itself.
Team expansion 🧑🎄
We've had our own Santa's Express this year and welcomed a booming 69 new passengers! Some joined us as part of the Kickstart Scheme, some as apprentices (hint: you have definitely spoken to some of them if you ever sent a ticket to our support team!) and some on a full-time basis. We are grateful that we have managed to create so many opportunities but moreover, for all of the new hires contributing to our vision and goals!
Product improvement 🎁
As well as introducing changes to the platform and improving your experience, we have successfully released some fundamentally important features this year: IR35 risk management tool and our own Share code ID functionality developed in line with the EU Settlement Scheme requirements.
In case you've missed it: here are the previous 2 release notes we've sent - the first one at end of summer and the second one at the end of October. Both cover all of the new features, improvements and fixes we introduced during that time period.
